Have you had your Xbox 360 lock up with the three red rings of death?

I did just last night. Too say I was a bit trouble is being polite. I was in the middle of rocking out on the drums playing Rock Band online with a buddy and it happened. My Xbox 360 exclusively froze up and the three red rings of doom were staring me in the face. I could not believe what just happened. I couldn’t even tell my online buddy what happened as everything just froze. I sat there with the drumsticks in my hand and my mouth open in disbelief.

I unplugged everything from my 360 and let it sit for awhile, hoping that after it cooled down it would work again. I was wrong. It still had the three red rings of death.

I knew that I had two choices and one of the choices was something I was not looking forward to. My original option was to contact Microsoft and wait for a shipping box to be sent to me so I could put my beloved console in it. Then I would have to take the shipping box down to a place where I could ship the entire thing out for repairs. After that I would have to wait, then wait numerous more, and then possibly wait so more for my Xbox 360 to be shipped back to me so that I could in the end play my games again. What is the word I am looking for to describe this option? Lame.

My second option was to fix the unit myself. I started out doing some exploration and found that it is in fact possible to fix the consolation yourself. There were a great deal of outstanding guides out there that saved me the time and hassle of shipping the entire console back for repairs. If your Xbox 360 has the three red rings of death, you need to recognise that you don’t have to ship it back to get it fixed.

3Don’t be afraid of the PARK
By P. Webb
This is a straightforward game, you, and a friend pluck the colors thrown forth on your GH, RB guitar, or drumkit or controller (wont work with DJturntable, GHtouchpad or RBsolo buttons). In the background low quality classical plays as bizarre zombies and alien species spring forth and explode, Typing of the Dead style. The 2 power-ups, shield/blast make for some variation, and the facts about classical music during load screens are a surprise. I wanted this game to be more than a rental or DLC content in disguise it is neither but once the price drops at least there will be something to do with your rhythm game equipment besides play the amazing new GH/RB titles. This is House of the Dead with instruments and some Rob Zombie songs/ appearance, the game has a good and an evil ending as well as unlockable challenges and local co-op. ROD really falls into the 2.5 * category with its phoned in voice acting, stale clunky graphics and Teen rating, yet somehow I keep firing it up and clicking through its series of somewhat inspired boss battles and mini challenges. Keep your expectations low and wait for the bargain bin or rent with caution.

3Good for what it is

If you want to try something else with your instruments this is pretty fun , its just house of the dead with instruments. It can be frustrating, but you know what the heck at the right price youll get some fun out of it. I wasnt disapointed at 7$. Over all its just cheezy fun.

2Don’t bother…
By flywheels
I really was looking forward to having a new game to use my Guitar Hero/Rock Band instruments on…then I played Rock of the Dead. Where do I start? Oh yeah, the game is horrible. Graphics are very muddy, N64 quality. The narrative of the game is so annoying you’ll want to mute your TV when and if you return for a 2nd play. Controls should be very simple, yet they aren’t. The game plays like an on-rails light gun shooter. Since you don’t have a cursor/gun to aim you have to strum your guitar without playing a note to shift your focus from enemy to enemy. When there are only 2-3 enemies on the screen at a time is isn’t too bad. When it throws several enemies at you at once you’ll find a hard time knowing which notes to play to kill the enemies.

In short this game is a rental at best…and it hurts me to even say that. Yes, the game really is that bad.
