A question that a good deal of of my kid’s parents ask me is “What may I do to work with my child on their own?” Parents don’t always have time to take their kids down to the soccer field and are ofttimes looking for things they may do in the backyard with their players.
My boys and I came up with a game one afternoon after looking at the World Cup that still is a big favored of theirs. Kids like to shoot and score, and this game is all in regards to shooting and scoring.
They just call it “Penalty Kicks.” What we do is set up two goals on either side of the back yard.
You’ll want the goals far sufficient detached so that you may pass the ball through the cones in regards to 3 out of 4 times. You may use cones or mini-goals. Either way, the goals will have to be with regards to 4-5 feet across.
Your child may shoot closer to their goal than you to yours so that they may experience when it comes to the
same success rate (3 out of 4 in the net). Take turns alternating “penalty shots” with no goalies. Take a total of 5 each. Whoever has more wins!
If you are tied after 5 shots, go to “Sudden Death.” Alternate shots until one makes it and the other doesn’t. If you get the shooting distance rectify for both you and your child, you may formulate a competitory and stimulating mini-game environment.
Be sure to exercise this drills with both feet. If you may start out your kids out early taking shots with their right and left feet, they will thank you for it later in life!
Backyard Soccer offers stimulating plays and action and access to junior versions of Major League Soccer stars such as John Harkes and Tiffeny Milbrett. You may also pick from your favored Backyard kids. When looking for players to put the ball in the back of the net, young coaches may strategize for fun. With Backyard Soccer, kids are free to dribble, pass, or shoot the ball while learning what makes each player distinctive and how a little lack of coordination or the occasional daydreaming by a defender may affect gameplay.
